Nathan Smith represents individuals, families, and closely held businesses in matters involving civil litigation, family law, and estate planning. He is known for practical strategy, clear communication, and results-focused advocacy in and out of the courtroom.
Raised in Billings, Montana, Nathan graduated from Billings West High School. He earned a B.S. in Spanish from the University of Utah, making the Dean’s List every semester. Nathan lived for two years in Santiago, Chile, where he gained valuable life experience and fluency in Spanish. He received his J.D. from the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law at Yeshiva University as a Berg Fellow.
Nathan’s civil litigation practice spans contract disputes, business torts, real property issues, and fiduciary matters. He is experienced with motion practice, discovery management, negotiated resolutions, and trial, and he approaches each dispute with early case assessment and a disciplined plan to drive efficient outcomes.
In estate planning, Nathan designs pragmatic plans that protect assets and reflect family priorities. His work includes wills, revocable and irrevocable trusts, powers of attorney, and healthcare directives, as well as business succession planning in coordination with clients’ tax and financial advisors.
In his free time, Nathan enjoys spending time with his family, running, and being outdoors.
