Our Region

When William Clark passed through the area that is now Billings almost two hundred years ago, he probably did not envision that the area would grow into the largest city in the State of Montana. Billings now serves as the major marketing area for all of eastern Montana, as well as northern Wyoming. It is the largest metropolitan area between Denver, Spokane, Minneapolis and Calgary.

Billings is also the gateway into Montana?s vast tourist resources which spread from the rugged badlands to the east of Billings to the Beartooth-Absaroka Wilderness Area immediately to the west of Billings, and on into Yellowstone Park, only three hours away.

Besides tourism and mercantilism, Billings is supported by a variety of economies including agriculture, natural resources, technology, medicine and transportation. Billings is constantly rated highly by those sources which review and evaluate the quality of life in various locations in the country. Billings also enjoys a remarkably mild climate, and yet is seasonal enough to offer the full four seasons of recreational opportunities.

Moulton Bellingham has been in Billings almost as long as the city has existed, and is currently located in the heart of the downtown area, in the Crowne Plaza Hotel, two blocks from the state courthouse, two blocks from the federal courthouse, and approximately five minutes from Logan International Airport.
