Summer Associates Join Moulton Bellingham
Moulton Bellingham is pleased to welcome two summer associates to its legal intern program. Ryan Seher and Afton Ball joined the firm in May 2010 for their summer internship, and they will spend the summer at the firm learning the legal profession and getting to know members of the Billings' community.
Afton grew up on her parents’ ranch outside of Reed Point, MT, where she attended K-12. After high school, she played basketball at Dawson Community College in Glendive, MT and received her Associates Degree in Art and Science. Thereafter, Afton relocated to Great Falls, where she attended the University of Great Falls for a year.
Afton met her husband Daniel in the Great Falls area, and they thereafter moved to Michigan, where Daniel attended law school at the University of Michigan. While there, Afton received her Bachelors of Science in Economics at Eastern Michigan University. Afton just completed her second year at Washington University in St. Louis School of Law (in St. Louis, MO). She enjoys hiking with Daniel and their beautiful husky, Niko, and watching Michigan football.
Ryan was born and raised in Bozeman, MT. A competitive mogul skier and bicycle racer, Ryan participated in regional and national ski competitions and bicycle races for nearly ten years until the age of 22. He attended the University of Utah in Salt Lake City, Utah, graduating in 2005 with a B.S. in Political Science. After graduation, Ryan worked for a year in Big Sky, Montana, before earning his masters degree in International Relations from King’s College London in London, England.
Ryan currently attends law school at the University at Buffalo SUNY Law School, where he is the Managing Editor of the Buffalo Law Review. While at Buffalo, Ryan had the opportunity to intern at a business law firm in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan and study financial law and regulation in New York City. This past spring, Ryan had an article accepted for publication in the Buffalo Law Review entitled “I Want to Ride My Bicycle: Why and How Cities Plan for Bicycle Infrastructure.? The article explores the reasons why governments should and do build bicycle lanes, the rules and regulations with regards to planning, funding, and designing bicycle lanes, and the legal liability a government incurs when it builds bicycle lanes. Ryan is still an avid skier and cyclist and one day hopes to ride his bicycle along the historic Silk Route, a 5,000 mile journey from Istanbul, Turkey to Shanghai, China.
Moulton Bellingham welcomes both Ryan and Afton to its summer program. The firm is proud of its long-traditon of summer associates. Many of the firm's professionals started their legal careers interning at Moulton Bellingham, and they were subsequently welcomed-back as associate attorneys. Many of these same attorneys are now shareholder members of the firm. We are pleased to add Afton and Ryan to Moulton Bellingham's group of young professionals.
