FIRM CARRIES NEW NAME BUT OLD TRADITIONS
You may have
noticed a slight change in the name of the firm. The shareholders
of the firm recently voted to officially shorten the name of the law
firm from Moulton, Bellingham, Longo & Mather, P.C., to Moulton Bellingham
P.C.
In the firm's
history, spanning more than one hundred years, there have beenvery few
name changes, the most recent name having been the name of the firm for
approximately fifty years. Of
those four named partners, only Bernard "Bud" Longo survives. Bud,
although not practicing, regularly visits the firm, sometimes joining
some of the members for lunch, or just discussing a "matter" with
some of the attorneys.
The shortening
of the firm's name was to simplifyand streamline the ability to communicate
the name of the firm. Previously, the name was usually abbreviated
as "The Moulton Firm," but the decision was made to use Moulton Bellingham
to make the name more distinctive.
FIVE MOULTON LAWYERS
OFFICIALLY "SUPER"
Super
Lawyers& Rising Stars, a relatively
new attorney rating service, again included four shareholders from the
Moulton firm as "Super Lawyers" in its second year of publication,
and also named a Moulton Bellingham associate as a "Rising Star."
Jerry Murphy
is listed as a Super Lawyer in the category of Business Litigation. William
("Andy") Forsythe is listed under "Civil Litigation Defense,"
and John Jones under
"Real Estate." Brent Cromley is listed in the category
"General Litigation." Jeff Sorenson is listed as a Rising
Star in the category of "Closely Held Business Law."
Super Lawyers © first
published their list of Super Lawyers in about a dozen states in 2006. In
2007 they included approximately forty states and hope to rate lawyers
in every state in 2008. Their objective is to create a credible,
comprehensive and diverse listing of outstanding attorneys that can be
used as a resource to assist attorneys and sophisticated consumers in
the search for legal counsel. Selection is based upon both an investigation
and a peer review process.
While the
Moulton firm is proud of this honor, we believe that the best process
for selection of an attorney to represent you is to make inquiry of those
persons you trust, and seek recommendations. |

MATT BRAUKMANN PASSES WYOMING BAR
While it is
not unusual for an attorney to pass a bar exam, a prerequisite for practicing
law in most states, it is more unusual for an attorney to be admitted to,
and actively practice in, a second state. Moulton Bellingham associate
attorney Matthew Braukmann recently did just that, studying for, and then
passing, the Wyoming Bar Exam.
Thus qualified, Matt can now practice
in all Wyoming courts, both state and federal. Matt also now becomes the
second Moulton Bellingham attorney to be admitted in both Montana and Wyoming. Michael
Begley accomplished the same feat three years ago. Both Mike and Matt have
an active case load in Wyoming.
Growing up
in Oregon, Matt also attended schools in Oregon, obtaining his J.D. degree
from the University of Oregon in 2005. He immediately began working
at Moulton Bellingham and now practices in the areas of litigation, commercial
transactions and real estate.
MOULTON BELLINGHAM HIRES THREE NEW ASSOCIATES
Moulton Bellingham
has hired three new associate attorneys to begin employment in the fall
of 2008, following successful admission to the State Bar of Montana. The
firm was very pleased with the qualifications of each of the three new
associates and the strength of their academic backgrounds.
Moulton Bellingham
has been regularly seeing an increase in demand for legal services in the
area and the firm has had increasing demands to provide legal services
in more areas of the law as well as in a broader geographic area. As
has been the tradition, the firm will announce the names of the three newest
members of the firm following their admission to the Bar.
